The Coma Whisperer Meditation #1
The Coma Whisperer – Meditation #1

Watching your comatose loved one, without being able to get through, can be heart-wrenching.  All you want to do is make things better. However, if you don’t know where to start, that can be really frustrating. In my book, The Coma Whisperer, you can get insights on how to use natural approaches to improve things.

Why do I understand your frustration? From first-hand experience working with people in a coma, during stroke recovery, and PTSD, I know the importance of feeling calm. From a calm mental state, progress is possible.

How To Use This Meditation

This script is designed to calm the listener.  You will hear breathing in addition to the words.  Whether it is someone in a coma or the caregiver, listening to this scripted audio recording can guide you to feel calm. You can breathe along with the breathing or simply relax and listen to the recording. The main focus is on feeling calm.

I wrote a book called The Coma Whisperer. In it, I share a story based on true events about eight-year-old Jonathan, my first coma client. Playing alone near the river at a family picnic, he inadvertently lost his balance and drowned. Paramedics revived him. However, he had massive brain damage.

I first heard about Jonathan after he’d been comatose for five weeks.  Intuitively, I felt inspired to go and see him. A Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) Stress Relief Coach, something drew me to him. I think he reminded me of Jason, my first-born son.  About a year before I met Jonathan, my son Jason died of a rare birth disorder called Marfan’s Syndrome. As I watched Jase’s life evaporate right before my eyes, I wanted to stop his suffering. I knew that was really unlikely. My husband and I could only do so much for Jase. But Jonathan’s situation was different. I felt I might be able to help him.

The hearing sense is active in comatose people. They might not be able to respond by speaking to you, but you can see changes in their breathing rate. If you can do anything to calm them, that benefits them.

I’ve learned a lot since first working with Jonathan.  I’ve now worked with other comatose people and those in stroke recovery using hypnosis and something called Jin Shin Jyutsu. These are techniques that can make a difference to reduce stress naturally.

Purposely choosing to feel calm can also be a natural way to balance brain chemistry.  Balanced brain chemistry helps us all reduce our stress.

NOTE: If you plan to use this recording for your comatose loved one, make sure you get the doctor’s permission first.  Some people are intentionally put in a coma for their best health. So, before you play the recording, give the link to your loved-one’s medical professional for approval to use it.

If you listen to this recording, you agree that you and you alone are responsible for any effects that occur. You agree to hold me harmless should anything harmful occur.

Description –

This is The Coma Whisperer Meditation #1 designed to promote calm in caregivers and those in coma.  It is the video version of the free audio recording.

Will your comatose loved one respond after hearing it? No one can know. However, notice the breath rate. Is it calmer after hearing a meditation? If so, that could be an indication he or she is hearing the meditation. A change in breath rate IS a conscious response. If this happens and you want to talk about it, you can email me to discuss at [email protected].

Note: Only use these meditations for those in coma or stroke recovery after first getting permission from your comatose person’s physician. Some people are intentionally put into a medical coma for their benefit. ONLY follow doctor’s orders.
